- Completed residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Missouri
- Completed fellowship in musculoskeletal medicine at the University of Missouri with special interest in the use of Botulinium toxin to treat specific neurologic conditions including stroke, adult cerebral palsy and headaches
- Was assistant professor at the University of Missouri and University of Alabama-Birmingham
- Received doctor of osteopathic medicine from Nova Southeastern University
- Has specialty training in the use of electrodiagnosis to define nerve injury
- Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
